Saljoughi (Seljuk) - Tughrul Tower
Tughrul Tower in Rey city near to Tehran is located eastern part of Ibn Babuwayh tomb. It is one of the most famous monuments of Seljuk era, the height of this tower is about 20 meters (without including its conical dome)some experts believed that this tower is acted like the hands of a clock, so the hours of a day can be understood by the light of sun on its jag.
One of the other use of this tower in its time was in the dark nights when they turned on fire on its barbican to guide travelers of the Silk Road who were come from Khorasan to Rey.
Carpet (Rug)
The rugs of this era, which was known as Seljuk Rugs, were made of wool (all its part: warp, woof, and lint were made of wool), and one of its most famous characteristic was a Symmetric node or Turkish node.
The rugs of Seljuk era were very well known in the seventh century. The oldest rugs was found in the Alaeddin mosque of Konya and Esrefoglu mosque ( for pieces of rugs and two complete and undamaged rug).these rugs which was gathered from these two mosques contains geometric and reticulated shapes or with some polygon with eight polygon star with Kofi margin and broken figures. Colors that was used in these pictures are red, yellow, green, brown and ochre.
