Pahlavi - The City Theater Construction
The city theater construction is a performing arts complex in Tehran, the capital of Iran. The complex was designed by architect Ali Sadr Afkhami the apprentice of Houshang Seyhoon, in the 1960s, and opened in 1972. The design of this building inspired from Tughrul Tower, with the feature of bricks and tiles. The abstract feature of tiles and use of outstanding bricks which was a famous design in different historical era specially in Ilkhan dynasty, and symmetry column of Takht-e- Jamshid are observable in this complex. The city theater with its circular and tent-like appearance is reminder of old and historical Iranian theater. Maybe the most famous characteristic of this construction is its circle plan. This plan is reminder of most well-known Greek and Roman theaters like Pantheon and Colosseum.
Carpet (Rug)
The rugs of this era contain celebrities images, domical design, triangular and bergamot, Farang flower, geometric, consolidated and fish designs.
