Painting on glass is one of the oldest European arts and its first samples were found on the southern part of Italy at the end of third century. In Iran, it dates back to Qajar Era by the cooperation and effort of Amir Kabir, this art became popular and prevalent on those years.
The term stained glass or Vitray refer to colored glass as material or to works created from it. Historically the term has been applied almost exclusively to the windows of churches, mosques and other significant buildings.
